RECreate Grant

The RECreate Grant replaced the Healthy Community Grant for 2020 and was awarded to nine communities across Alberta for the program period of October 2020 to April 2021.

The goal of the RECreate Grant is to enable healthy living champions to overcome the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic to support physical activity, active living, and/or healthy eating within the context of recreation at the community level.

Communities ChooseWell continues to support the RECreate Grant recipients as they conclude their initiatives. Thank you to all who applied, we wish we were able to fund all your amazing ideas! The RECreate Grant was a one time offering and will not be provided in the future. Please visit the Healthy Community Grant page for details on our next funding opportunity.

The Communities ChooseWell RECreate Grant was administered by the Alberta Recreation and Parks Association. Communities ChooseWell is funded by Alberta Health.
